Jewellery

Working with Natural Materials: I take a great deal of pleasure in “taking in” all the beauty of the natural world. To hold a feather up to the light and delight in the iridescence, or to turn a rock over and over in the palm of my hand and study all of it’s ancient lines and textures; these things make me feel small by all their wonder, and in this, they make me feel alive.

In designing jewellery, I follow the lead of the natural materials that I work with. Rarely, do I “decide” what colours I will use, but rather, I look at what is already there and take notice of what will best display the natural beauty. Nature is not usually symmetrical, or perfect. I like this. I don’t feel that jewellery made with natural materials should be mass produced anymore than I feel that people should be expected to come from cookie cutters. Each is unique in it’s imperfections and beauty.

The images below show some of the jewellery that I have created. I use natural materials including genuine porcupine quills, bone, leather, feathers, glass and crystal in my jewellery designs. To order your own custom jewellery, please contact me and we will discuss materials and design choices.
